I would like to do some genealogy stuff on this blog, but I can't figure out how to paste trees.

On my mother's side of the family we have the Sorensens. We can trace this family back to the 1300s. Andreas Mikail Sorensen of Drammen, Norway, shipowner, was the patriarch of the family. His youngest son Thorvald emigrated to the US in the early 1880s. One of Thorvald's daughter's was Sophie, my grandmother.

She married Peder Johnson, a Norwegian born tanker captain. He was killed in June of 1943 when his ship, the Esso Gettysburg, was torpedoed by U-66 off Savannah, Georgia. He and Sophie had two sons and a daughter, my mother Carol.
