Sunday we went to Goosewing Beach. It was warm and sunny and the water in Quicksand Pond was comfortable. Hank even put his head under the water. An unusually nice day for Memorial Day weekend.

On Monday we were thinking of going again. At 8 AM the phone rang. It was the Nursing Home calling. "Gordon is having a hard time breathing." they told Sarah. "We're sending him to the hospital."

So off I went to the emergency room for about the 15th time in the last year. First for my mother and now for my uncle. He was in a large examination room hooked up to every machine imaginable. A cardiologist came over to me. "Your uncle is having a heart attack and has very aggressive pneumonia. There is a high probability he will die in the next two days" he said.

Then we went over to Gordon and he said the same thing to him. Gordon seemed to pay no attention to him and was not responsive to me. I went to phone Sarah to tell her what was going on. When I came back Gordon was responsive but had a hard time communicating because of the oxygen mask over his face.

They moved him to the cardiac unit at noon. I went home for the rest of the afternoon. I returned to the hospital in the early evening. He was sitting in bed watching Jeopardy on TV. "When am I going back to Hallworth House?" he asked. "Gordon, you've had a heart attack!" I said. "Oh." he replied.

On Tuesday when I stopped by a doctor said to me "He's made a remarkable recovery. We're all surprised." They may send him back to the Nursing Home on Friday.

For the first time in two and a half weeks we played teeball tonight. Yes, its been raining for that long - and maybe again this weekend! Hank smashed the ball into the outfield his first time up. Pretty good for someone who just turned 5. Skipper made 4 outs in the field including an unheard of double play. Pediatric Dentistry remains undefeated.

Not much going on. I have not been inspired to post.

Sarah has been struggling with the renovations to my mother's house so we can get it rented. Little plumbing jobs turn into big plumbing jobs and so it goes. Our tenant is supposed to move in next week.

My uncle is presumably living on the first floor but he is back in the nursing home after suffering a second bout of aspiration pneumonia.

The boys are on the same tee ball team "Pediatric Dentistry". It goes without saying that they are the stars of the team.
